Bits {wherein I tell you about what I've been up to}

Most Recent Project: The Nethernet {previously PMOG}

Turning the whole web into a playing field; this project presented all kinds of fun ux challenges. As a firefox addon, this product is alone in its ability to make play out of your daily web surfing. The community and their content created a rich playscape for all gamers, from the most passive to the most {oft times, deviously} active. :-)

the Bobs {we're gonna bring in some entry-level graduates, farm some work out to Singapore, that's the usual deal}

I am currently available & looking for something awesome to put my skills to...
Are you doing something awesome? Drop me a line and tell me about it.

About {wherein I tell you a vague overview about little ol' mio}

By day, I am a ux designer with a background that includes curiosities/research in psychology, all things science, & traditional printmaking. How I stumbled into & came to love this field of study & practice is fun. (it is also the story of how I came to own & manage my design firm)
By night, I am a typophile & book loving nerd, who blows off steam by playing Burnout Paradise & Plants vs Zombies. I also make things. Mostly out of socks or felt.

But pretty much, all the time, I love solving problems and trying to make the things people love work better. Oh, & I laugh. A lot.

  • Twitter. Oh yeah, I do that too: follow me @dutchashell
  • My Tumblr: Check out the things I liked enough to re-share
  • Raptr: Sure, I have a PS3, but that doesn't mean I have to miss out on all the fun.
  • I keep a 'short' list of stuff I care about start.io
  • I contribute to @makegames

  • And like a well loved pet, I share a never ending, delicious list with my former design partner.

Please feel free to send me some email.

*or* although some might tell you filling out forms is tiresome, I quite enjoy them.
So, in honor of getting to know you, I made a special one. Just for you!

My form for you.

From the library {feeding my curiosities makes life better}

Currently, I am reading "Sync" by Steven Strogatz & The Structure and Dynamics of Networks (edited by M. Newman, A-L. Barabási, & D.J. Watts).

The first is, not surprisingly, is wildly more enjoyable, both as a introduction & exploration into the science, but it also serves as a literary self portrait of human curiosity.

Steven Strogatz has spoken at Ted & is in the most recent SEED magazine.
